Design

The LOFTEK 10W Rechargeable Portable LED Work Light features your pretty typical work light design. The frame is constructed from painted yellow tubing, with the bottom two capped with rubber ends and acting as feet. A third metal piece crosses this and the lamp attaches to it using a thin black metal frame and twist knobs at the bottom and on each side of the lamp. The light itself is framed with a black frame and the light body is yellow as well. Finally, a yellow handle with a foam padded grip is attached to the sides of the lamp body.

Where this work light differs from others is the removable battery pack which attaches to the back of the lamp body using two clips. Having a removable battery is a good feature here as it allows you to replace the battery, swap out batteries when one dies, and remove the battery to make it easier to recharge on your kitchen counter, in your car, or wherever else you may be charging it up. The battery pack has two ports, one for charging it, the second for charging your smartphone or other device using a USB cable. An on/off switch with two settings indicated by one and two lines is also present on the battery pack.

The work light is pretty compact and is roughly 5 1/2″ wide, just under 6 1/2″ deep, and just under 9 1/2″ in height. The light swivels a full 360° and up and down 120° allowing you to direct the light where you need to.

The light is also IP65 rated, so you don’t have to worry about wrecking it by getting dust or water from rain or splashes inside it.

Ease of Use

The LOFTEK 10W Rechargeable Portable LED Work Light is easy to use. Simply clip the battery pack onto the back and flick the switch to the one line setting to turn on the light. If you wish to charge your device from it, flick the switch to the two line setting and plug in your using a USB cable. You won’t get fast charging of any type out of the battery as it recharges your devices with a 1A output.

Performance

This is definitely a bright little LED work light, and being LED it doesn’t heat up like your traditional work lights do. The throw distance and brightness are more than adequate for working in the garage, basement, or even lighting up areas of the back yard at night.

Charging your smartphone works as expected, although it does take a while being relegated to a 1A output. One pretty big caveat though: you can’t use the light and charge your device at the same time.

Battery Life

LOFTEK claims a 4.5 hour battery life on the light. During our tests we averaged about 4 hours. Given the mAh size of the battery, it takes closer to 5 hours to fully recharge.

Price/Value

With an MSRP of $75.99USD, the LOFTEK 50W LED Flood Light is currently on sale for $42.99 on Amazon. At that price, you’re getting a pretty good deal for a work light with the added bonus of being able to recharge your .

Wrap-up

If you’re looking for a portable LED light for work, travel, camping, or other tasks with the ability to charge your smartphone in a pinch, the LOFTEK 50W LED Flood Light is a pretty solid choice.
